Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
In a food processor, combine the fresh basil, aged parmesan, pine nuts, and garlic. Pulse until finely minced. While blending, slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil until the mixture is well combined. Add salt to taste.
In a large serving bowl, add the drained spaghetti along with 1/4 cup of the reserved pasta water. Toss well for 1-2 minutes to let the pasta cool slightly.
