About JusTheRecipe

Recipe blogs are full of beautiful writing. They are also full of ads, anecdotes about Tuscany, and 1500 words separating you from the actual recipe.

JusTheRecipe is a self-hosted tool that fetches a recipe page server-side, runs it through a layered extraction pipeline (JSON-LD → site handler → microdata → heuristic), and renders the recipe on a clean, beautiful card with cooking-mode QOL features.

Why self-hosted?

Because the recipe sites' ad networks would prefer we didn't exist. Running it on your own box keeps the project quiet and resilient.

How are blogs supported?

Each site has a small JSON config in our handler registry. ~80% of food blogs ship well-formed JSON-LD Recipe blocks and need almost no configuration. The rest get site-specific selectors. When a site changes, the handler is a 5-line edit; no rebuild required.
