American Chop Suey is a hearty one pot comfort meal made with tender elbow macaroni, seasoned ground beef, and a rich tomato sauce. It’s simple, filling, and perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

In a Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium high heat. Drain excess grease.
Add onion, bell pepper, celery, garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
Increase heat to high and add the macaroni.
Cover and bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
Remove lid, reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Cook until pasta is al dente and sauce is thickened.
Turn off heat, cover, and let sit for a few minutes before serving.
