This easy, make-ahead french toast casserole recipe is perfect for a brunch crowd. Simply prepare it the night before and breakfast will be ready in no time!

In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.
Soak each bread slice in egg mixture, turning once, for 4 seconds. Arrange in a 13" x 9" baking dish in an even layer, each slice slightly overlapping the last. Pour any remaining egg mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
Preheat oven to 375°. Sprinkle almonds over bread mixture.
Bake French toast casserole until tops of bread are golden brown and crunchy, about 40 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes.
Dust with confectioners' sugar. Top with berries (if using).
