Ingredients
Instructions
In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cranberry juice, grated ginger, and cinnamon. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the syrup comes to a rolling boil.
Rinse the cranberries in a colander, discarding any mushy ones.
Add cranberries to the boiling syrup and cook uncovered for 2–5 minutes, until the berries begin to pop. Do not overcook.
Skim off any foam from the surface with a metal spoon and discard.
Remove from heat and stir in the orange zest. Let cool to room temperature uncovered.
Transfer to jars, seal, and refrigerate for up to 3 months or can for long-term storage.
