Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 10- to 12-inch circle.
In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, beaten egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and garlic powder. Stir until well mixed.
Spoon the cheese filling onto one half of the dough, leaving a border around the edge. Add pepperoni or sausage, if using.
Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Press and crimp the edges to seal completely.
Transfer the calzone to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with olive oil and cut a few small slits to vent steam.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
Let cool slightly before serving. Serve with warm marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
