Instructions
Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a sheet pan by lining it with parchment paper to make cleanup easier.
Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil all over the surface of the fillet to help the seasoning stick and keep the fish moist.
In a small bowl, mix together paprika, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, black pepper, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika until well combined.
Generously coat the salmon fillet on all sides with the seasoning mixture, ensuring an even and thick layer for a flavorful crust.
Place the seasoned salmon on the prepared sheet pan on the middle rack of the oven. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until the salmon flesh turns opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Begin checking for doneness at about 12 minutes to avoid overcooking. Note that thinner or wild salmon may cook faster.
Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Serve warm with fresh lemon wedges and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. This salmon pairs wonderfully with rice, roasted vegetables, salads, or as an addition to tacos and grain bowls.
