Ingredients
Instructions
Step 1: Season the Chicken
Place chicken cubes in a mixing bowl. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well to coat evenly.
Step 2: Coat the Chicken
Add egg and stir to coat the chicken. In a separate bowl, combine cornstarch and flour. Dredge each chicken piece in this dry mixture until fully coated.
Step 3: Pan-Fry Until Crispy
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces in batches and cook until golden and crispy, about 4–6 minutes. Remove onto paper towels to drain.
Step 4: Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey (or sugar), rice vinegar, ketchup, sesame oil, and chili flakes. Add garlic and ginger if using.
Step 5: Thicken the Sauce
Pour sauce into a clean skillet. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook over medium heat until thick, glossy, and bubbling.
Step 6: Coat the Chicken
Add the crispy chicken pieces to the hot sauce. Toss until every piece is coated in the sticky sesame glaze.
Step 7: Garnish & Serve
Top with toasted sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
