Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan.
Remove from heat and add tea bags (or loose tea).
Steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on desired strength.
Remove tea bags and let cool (or strain if using loose tea).
In a separate pitcher, combine 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice with 1 cup of granulated sugar.
Stir until sugar is fully dissolved.
Add 4 cups of cold water to the lemon mixture; mix well.
In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea with the lemonade.
Stir well to mix.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Pour over ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves, if desired.
