Instructions
Prep the Salt: Spread the coarse salt evenly on a small, flat plate.
Wet the Rim: Run a lime wedge around the outer, top edge of each glass rim. Note: Only salt the outside of the glass; avoid salting the inside.
Salt the Glass: Gently invert the glass and press the wet rim into the salt until coated to your liking. Set the glasses aside.
Measure Liquids: Using a jigger, measure the tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur directly into the metal cocktail shaker. Add optional agave nectar if using.
Fill with Ice: Fill the shaker two-thirds full with high-quality, solid ice cubes.
Close and Shake: Seal the shaker tightly. Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is thoroughly chilled and frosted.
Add Serving Ice: Place 1-2 large, fresh ice cubes into the prepared, salted glasses (optional, or serve without ice for an 'up' style).
Strain: Open the shaker and carefully strain the chilled cocktail mixture into the prepared glasses.
Garnish: Garnish each drink with a fresh lime wheel or wedge before serving.
