Polish Wafer Cake (Andrut) Recipe

Sweet layers of kajmat sandwiched between light and crisp wafers make the perfect dessert or snack. The Polish andruty wafers are easy to make at home too!

If you have kajmak, go to step 3. You are using condensed milk, go to step 2.
In a pot, cover a closed can of condensed milk with cold water. Bring to boil, then reduce the heat. Cook slowly for 3-4 hours. When the can is cold, you can open it up.
Spread the first layer of the wafer with kajmak/ cooked condensed milk.
Cover with the second layer of the wafer.
Spread kajmak on top.
Cover with the third layer of the wafer.
Spread plum butter (powid?o) on top.
Cover with the fourth layer of the wafer.
Spread kajmak on top.
Cover with the final layer of the wafer.
Place something heavy onto the wafer cake. It's ready to eat after a few hours.
