Making Deviled Egg Chicks can be a fun activity! Follow these simple steps to create your adorable appetizers:
Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
After boiling, transfer the eggs to an ice bath or cold water to cool for about 5-10 minutes.
Once cooled, carefully peel the eggs under running water to remove the shells easily.
Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
Mash the yolks with a fork. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites, creating a mound to resemble the chick’s body.
Set the filled halves upright on a platter. You may need to trim a bit off the bottom to help them stand.
Cut small pieces from the black olives and place them on each chick for eyes.
Cut small triangles from the carrot slices for the beaks, and use additional carrot pieces to create feet.
Sprinkle paprika on top for a pop of color. Optionally, add fresh parsley around the chicks for a decorative touch.
Place the platter in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set before serving.
