Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
Add the mashed bananas to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves), and salt. Whisk to incorporate.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
If using, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans and raisins until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
