Crispy Baked BBQ Tofu
Crispy, baked tofu cubes coated in a sticky, homemade barbecue sauce for a perfect plant-based meal.

Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Press the block of tofu for 15 minutes using a tofu press or by wrapping it in paper towels and placing a heavy pan on top to remove excess water.
Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and place them in a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle with cornstarch, garlic powder, and black pepper, then toss gently until the tofu cubes are evenly and lightly coated.
Arrange the coated tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are golden and firm.
In the same mixing bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, olive oil, and water. Add the baked tofu cubes back to the bowl and toss gently to coat them evenly in the sauce.
Return the sauced tofu to the baking sheet and bake for another 8-10 minutes until the sauce is sticky and caramelized around the edges. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to set.
Notes
- Press tofu thoroughly for the crispiest results. Let rest after baking to allow the sauce to set.
