Dark and Stormy

Ginger beer over ice in a tall glass, with dark rum poured in last so it settles on top in dark clouds before you stir it down. It's sharp and spicy from the ginger, with the rum coming through as molasses and a little burn. Bermuda's Gosling's owns a US trademark on the name and insists the real thing uses their Black Seal rum. A wedge of lime on the rim is standard. A squeeze of lime juice into the drink is common but technically makes it a rum buck. Serve it cold and drink it before the ice gets to it. 12.3% ABV (1.3 US standard drinks).
